The 8th stop of the 2010 ASP World Championship Tour has yet to begin for the top 34 male surfers, but the world’s best female surfers got right down to business at the start of the official waiting period at the 2010 Rip Curl Pro Portugal.

Event number six of the Women’s Dream Tour scored some amazing waves over the last three days allowing the competition to be completed today at a spot called Lagido.  It was Hawaii’s Carissa Morre who took the win after putting on an amazing show from the start of the event.

Meanwhile, it looks like the men’s portion of the contest could finally get underway on Sunday at Supertubes.  Event organizers will make the next call for a possible start at 8:30 a.m.  To watch the live action, check out live.ripcurl.com.
