
The HPU pitchers in game one helped themselves out, starter Breanne Patton and reliever Brittany Fenumiai each hit two run homers. Chaminade took the first lead of the game in the first inning before the Sea Warriors responded with 11 unanswered runs.
In addition to earning the win, Patton was 3-3 with three runs and two RBI at the plate. Erin Fujita collected two hits and two RBI while Chante Tesoro added two hits and a RBI.
HPU was efficient in game two, scoring nine times on 10 hits. HPU raced out to a 9-0 lead before Chaminde scored in the sixth inning. A one point of the doubleheader, HPU had scored 20 unanswered runs.
Melissa Kirby was brilliant in the win, going five innings and allowing just one hit. Tesoro again added two hits as did Keila Elderts. Chanelle Senas drove in two runs to lead HPU.
HPU returns to action on Saturday against BYU-Hawaii for a noon doubleheader at Howard A. Okita Field.
