The University of Hawai'i women's golf team will host the inaugural Rainbow Wahine Invitational at the Kapolei Golf Course, Tuesday, Nov. 1 and Wednesday, Nov. 2.
After two years of hosting the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational on the North Shore of O'ahu, the Rainbow Wahine return to the Kapolei Golf Course where it hosted the Kent Youel Invitational from 1999 through 2008.
Competing alongside Hawai'i will be Brigham Young, Cal State Fullerton, Florida International, Mercer, Rutgers, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah Valley, and Washington.
Teams will play a total of 54 holes – 36 holes on Tuesday and 18 holes on Wednesday – on a par-72 course checking in at 6,140 yards.
Leading the Rainbow Wahine into the tournament is junior Ka'ili Britos. The sophomore from Honolulu, enters the tournament averaging a team best 76.4 strokes per round, including a career-best third round 69 at the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational earlier this month. She finished last year's Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational tied for fifth place (72-76-76) which is the third-best finish of her career.
The Rainbow Wahine Invitational is the fourth and final tournament of the fall season for Hawai'i. UH will host two more tournaments during the spring season in March – the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course on O'ahu and 'Anuenue Spring Break Classic at The Bay Course in Kapalua, Maui.
