Honolulu, HI (February 15, 2012) – Hawai'i Pacific senior shooting guard Paris Gravelyhas been selected as the PacWest Player of the Week for games played from February 6th to February 12th. Three other Sea Warriors were selected to the PacWest Basketball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll.

Gravely posted 23 points against Dixie State and then five days later she scored 31 against Dominican. The California native shot an unbelievable 17-24 (71%) for the week. She was just as good from long range hitting 71% (10-14) of her shots. Her six threes against Dominican tied a school record for most three-pointers in a game.

Teammate Mana Hopkins was selected for the PacWest Basketball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. She averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds for the week. Hopkins ranked fifth in scoring and third in rebounding for the week in the league. She also tied for fifth in assists per game (5) and tied for second in steals per game (4). The Kona native made 12 of 14 (76%) attempts from the line.

Two men's basketball players also made the PacWest Basketball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. LaBrent Chappell helped HPU to a 1-1 week by averaging 14 points while leading the conference in shooting at 79% (11-14).  He added three assists per game, made 3 of 4 three-point attempts (75%), and averaged two steals per game. Fellow senior Fran Urli made the list after averaging 13 points and seven rebounds per game this week. He connected on 12 of 14 (86%) attempts from the line.

Both teams will celebrate senior night on Friday at McKinley High School. The women's game will begin at 5 PM followed by the men's game at 7 PM.
