Pacific X-treme Combat held a press conference yesterday at the Pacific Islands Club Sunset Barbecue amphitheater to showcase the fighters in the upcoming PXC-36 event.
PXC-36 is scheduled to rock the University of Guam field house at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
Promoter Edward John Calvo said PXC-36 is going to be an epic and exciting event that will showcase a grudge match between bantamweights Trevin Jones and Kyle Aguon as they represent two of Guam’s top mixed martial arts teams — Spike22 and Underworld X-treme — in the main event.
According to Calvo, Spike22 and Underworld X-treme have had a rivalry for years and have produced some of the most talented fighters and rising MMA stars.
“Spike22 and Underworld X-treme have given us some of the most exciting fights and I can personally guarantee that the rivalry fight between the two teams will be nothing short of what they have brought us in the past,” Calvo said.
Calvo also said history is in the making for Guam as PXC is showcasing its first-ever professional female bout. Strawweights Kaiyana Rain of California will fight Kailin Curran of Hawaii.
“This is what PXC is all about,” said Eli Monge, PXC vice president and head matchmaker.
“The match between Trevin Jones and Kyle Aguon will be an exciting fight,” he added.
Monge also said the female bout will exciting and shouldn’t disappoint.
Calvo said he’s excited about the fight card, which includes the return of former PXC heavyweight champ Roque Martinez, who will take on Mylo Lassiter, Saipan’s top heavyweight contender.
Calvo added he’s thankful for all of the supporters and loyal fans of the PXC.
