As part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness month, Hawaii Oahu, is celebrating with a variety of events. Please join in wherever possible.

Signing Of The Proclamation By The Mayor Of The County of Honolulu: On Thursday, November 8, at 10:00 AM, Mayor Peter Carlisle will sign the proclamation declaring November 11-17, 2012, “Homeless Awareness Week.”
Statewide Homeless Awareness Conference: “Malama Nā ‘Ohana”, Tuesday, November 13, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM at the Pacific Beach Hotel. For information contact Leslie Uyehara at luyehara@kphc.org or download a registration form at www.partnersincarehawaii.org.
Ho’olaulea: Friday, November 16, 11:00 PM – 2:00 PM, at Tamarind Park, Bishop Square. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC with special entertainment, resources and giveaways.

And as apart of Wahine Sports Network’s effort of raising awareness we are asking you to join us in donating to the Agape Housing Development (www.agapehousing.org)
How you can help.
  • Fundraiser: Organize or host a Fundraising Event!
  • Social Media: Connect with us.
  • Donate:  Make monetary or in-kind donations.
  • Hygiene Kits:  Make “Hygiene Kits” with combs, toothbrushes, shampoo, etc.
    • Clothing: Gather clothing to be donated to needy families within our community.
    • School Supplies: Donate school supplies for Schools within our community.
    • Family Care Packages:  Make care packages for needy families within our community.
    • Toys:  Raid your closet and attic to find toys to donate to child care centers or churches and even schools in our community.
  • Volunteer:  Help set up for “Be Blessed Day” (Community Event), cook and/or serve a meal on the days that we go out into the community to feed the homeless.
