PHOENIX, AZ – Chaminade is heading home.  After six matches in four days, the Swords lost the final match of the trip to the Golden Eagles of Cal State LA 7-2 to end an otherwise successful trip. 
 
Chaminade struggled to find wins, garnering two singles wins and were shutout in doubles action. In #2 singles, All PacWest performer Yuka Kondo (Irvine, Ca/San Joaquin) was a bright spot, defeating Larn McShane 7-5, 6-3. Yanita Arnaudova (Hazkova, Bulgaria/Azen Zlatarov Foreign Language School) a standout for CUH, struggled, losing to Christie Lau 6-0, 6-3. Kondo and Arnaudova fell in a close matchup in #1 doubles 8-6, while Phanphengdy and Matsumoto lost 8-1 in #2 doubles and the Golden Eagles won #3 doubles to complete the doubles sweep. 

Coach Mosley commented after the match: “Unfortunately we suffered a slight setback in our last two matches against Academy and Cal State LA.  Even though we fought hard, six matches in four days proved to be a bit much as fatigue set in. Overall though, we are very happy with the start of our season.  Now we’re excited to get back to the practice court and prepare for our upcoming match with HPU.”
 
Chaminade is back in action on February 28^th, facing Hawaii Pacific at 10:00 AM HT at Central Oahu Regional Park in Waipio, HI
 
With today’s loss, Chaminade moves to 4-2 on the year.  Cal State LA improves to 3-2.
